NUEVA GIRA EN 2016 Y... ¿NUEVO DISCO?

Con el anuncio en su página oficial de dos fechas en Alemania para el verano de 2016, en las que Sting volverá a interpretar sus grandes éxitos, parece que este tour sin nombre se alargará aún otro año más. ¿Nueva gira europea como la del verano pasado?. Sabemos que Sting ha estado encerrado en un estudio de grabación, ¿habrá o no disco nuevo?. ¿Será esta gira la que apoye un hipotético nuevo lanzamiento?. De momento solamente pueden confirmarse estos tres conciertos: 2 en Alemania y 1 en Dinamarca:

ACTUACIÓN EN THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON, STUDIO 6B, ROCKEFELLER CENTER, NUEVA YORK, NY (USA). (4/12/2015).

COMENTARIO: 

Sting acudía en esta ocasión a este popular talk show para apoyar a la cantante francesa Mylène Farmer en la promoción americana de su álbum “Interstellaire”, para el cual grabó en formato dueto su propia composición “Stolen car”. Ambos interprataron en vivo este tema. Era la primera vez que Mylène cantaba en un programa de la televisión americana. La banda de músicos que les acompañó en esta actuación se hacían llamar “City of love” y estaba formada por el mandamás de Cherrytree Recods, Martin Kierszenbaum a los teclados, Jerry Fuentes del grupo “The last Bandoleros” a la guitarra, y Zach Jones del grupo “Secret Someones”. Era la tercera vez que Sting aparecía en este popular talk show en un periodo de 14 meses. Dos días más tarde Sting apoyó en Broadway el estreno del musical “School of Rock”, compuesto por el mítico Andrew Lloyd Webber, en el Teatro Winter Garden.

COMENTARIO: 

Gala en la que se homenajea la música de Frank Sinatra al cumplirse 100 años de su nacimiento. El evento tuvo lugar en el Licoln Center de Nueva York con la New York Philharmonic conducida por Alan Gilbert. El especial presentado por Seth MacFarlane sería emitido el 18 de diciembre por el canal PBS. La actuación de Sting, que cantó dos covers de “La voz”, el segundo de ellos acompañado por el trompetista Chris Botti, fue la más aplaudida en una gala en la que se echaron en falta presencias más destacadas como las de Harry Connick, Jr. Tonny Bennett, Natalie Cole o Liza Minnelli, algunos de ellos estuvieron en otros especiales que otras cadenas también prepararon en tributo a Sinatra. Seth McFarlane dio sobrados argumentos para no ser considerado en absoluto un crooner, se atrevió hasta a hacer un dueto con Christina Aguilera.

COMENTARIO: 

Especial de la NBC en el que se celebra por octavo año consecutivo la música de la Navidad, con la excusa del encendido de la iluminación navideña en Rockefeller Center por 83º año. El programa fue presentado por Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker y Natalie Morales y como siempre contó con importantes actuaciones. En 2006 Sting participó en un evento muy similar en Rockefeller Plaza, en esta ocasión recuperó dos temas de claro espíritu navideño que grabó en 2009 para su álbum invernal “If on a winter’s night...”, “The coventry carol” junto a un conjunto de niños coristas, y “Soul cake” acompañado del trompetista, con el que se sospecha que está preparando una gira para 2016. 

El día anterior a este evento, Sting participó aunque en calidad de orador, en un concierto organizado por Bono para sus fundaciones “One” “(Red)” en el día mundial contra el Sida, que tuvo lugar en el neoyorquino Carnegie Hall y que contó además con la participación de la controvertida Miley Cyrus.

STING VUELVE AL SHOW DE JIMMY FALLON, ESTA VEZ JUNTO A MYLÈNE FARMER

Sting y Mylène Farmer actuarán este viernes 4 de diciembre en "The tonight show starring Jimmy Fallon". El mandamás de Cherrytree Records, la discográfica de Sting desde que ésta absorbiera gran parte del catálogo de A&M Records, Martin Kierszenbaum ha puesto todo su empeño en lanzar la carrera internacional de Mylène Farmer, toda una estrella en Francia, produciendo y componiendo casi la totalidad de los temas que se incluyen en el décimo álbum de su carrera, "Interstellaires". Por raro que nos parezca dado su éxito, Mylène nunca antes había actuado en un programa de la televisión americana. Sting ha apoyado esta apuesta personal de su "jefe" y volverá a hacerlo una vez más.

Será la tercera vez en 14 meses en que Sting aparezca en este popular talk show. Apareció con dos looks muy diferenciados. El 16 de octubre de 2014 rasurado al cero y con gafas cantó politonos.

El 22 de mayo de 2015 al más puro estilo hipster cantó con el grupo de barbershop de Fallon "Roxanne".

No os perdáis este viernes a Sting y Mylène Farmer cantando "Stolen car" en el "Tonight show starring Jimmy Fallon". Esperemos que esta vez canten en vivo y no en playback como en la polémica actuación en los NRJ Music Awards.
