COMENTARIO:
La estupenda respuesta del público ante su actuación en el Ziggo Dome de Amsterdam del pasado 22 de marzo, hizo que Sting y Paul Simon concluyeran allí su gira y no en el O2 de Londres como inicialmente estaba previsto. Terminaba así una gira que dio comienzo el 8 de febrero de 2014 en Houston y que a lo largo de 52 conciertos ha puesto pie en 3 continentes, visitando 16 países diferentes. Su balance ha sido muy positivo, 225 mil espectadores acudieron a ver un espectáculo caro (el hecho de juntar a dos artistas de primer nivel como Simon y Sting que además llevaban consigo a sus respectivas bandas tenía un elevado coste), y se recaudaron más de 28 millones de dólares. El actor Ian McKellen fue uno de los presentes a la despedida de la gira como atestiguaba el retrato que se hizo con Sting que luego colgó en su cuenta de Instagram. Durante la gira Sting y Paul Simon llegaron a cantar juntos hasta 12 canciones diferentes, en este último concierto Simon prescindió de las dos últimas incorporaciones, “The sound of silence” y “Homeward bound”.
