Desde ayer se encuentra en las tiendas "Before this world", el primer disco con material nuevo compuesto por James Taylor en 13 años. En él se encuentra una "perla", el tema homónimo que da título al álbum, y que aparece unido a otro titulado "Jolly springtime". Este emotivo tema cuenta con unas maravillosas armonías vocales de Sting en su primera parte, además del cello de Yo Yo Ma uniendo los dos pasajes musicales.
En el libreto de este disco producido por Dave O'Donnell y que vuelve a contar con sus músicos habituales (Michael Landau, Jimmy Johnson, Steve Gadd, Larry Goldings, Kate Markowitz, David Lasley o Luis Conte) Taylor dice lo siguiente:
“Rob Mounsey escribió excelentes arreglos de cuerda y viento para “Snowtime” y “Stretch of the highway”, que fueron grabadas en Nueva York. Fue allí donde Sting grabó su armonía para “Before this world”. Estoy agradecido por su tiempo y su talento (estaba de trabajo hasta las orejas con su brillante musical “The last ship” que Kim y yo fuimos a ver el día del estreno en Chicago).
