COMENTARIO:
Honolulu ha sido siempre un destino muy querido por The Police, allí tocaron por primera vez en febrero de 1980 y repetirían en enero de 1981 y en febrero de 1984. Allí los vieron hace 24 años y tres conciertos más tarde de aquella actuación la banda se separó. La única diferencía entre los conciertos del día 16 y 17 de febrero fue que en el del día 17 se tocó un tema más: “Walking in your footsteps” y que durante “Next to you” salieron al completo Fiction Plane para tocar, cambiando Stewart la batería por la guitarra y cantando Sting un dueto con su hijo primogénito, Joe. Una bonita forma de agradecerles su largo periplo como teloneros que con este concierto finalizaba. Hasta primeros de mayo el trío se tomaría un merecido descanso.

Volvieron a incluir “Walking in your footsteps” en los dos conciertos en Tokio, que finalizaban la corta gira japonesa. Se anunció también que no se lanzaría ningún CD en directo de The Police, tan solo un DVD que recogería la gira sudamericana y alguna que otra sorpresa más.

COMENTARIO:
Durante su gira japonesa se anunció la tercera gira americana de The Police, y también la última oportunidad de verlos, pues tras concluirla dejarán de tocar definitivamente juntos. Un total de 29 conciertos se añadieron a la larga gira, todos ellos teloneados por Elvis Costello & The Impostors. El 4 de agosto en Nueva York será por lo visto el final de esta segunda etapa de The Police.
