COMENTARIO:

Aunque Sting lideraba el equipo azul y Peter Gabriel el rojo en esta gira no existe nada que se asemeje a la competitividad, más bien todo lo contrario, aquí de lo que se trata es de la camaradería, de compartir músicos y cancioneros, de ponerse al frente pero también de ocupar un discreto segundo plano cuando toca. Aunque Gabriel comentó, no sabemos si de guasa, que durante un tiempo él y Sting fueron enemigos lo cierto es que hay muchas similitudes en sus largas carreras: Gabriel alcanzó la popularidad dentro del grupo Genesis con los que grabó 6 álbumes, Sting se hizo famoso dentro de la banda The Police con los que publicó 5 álbumes; Peter Gabriel ha publicado 7 discos en solitario, Sting por su parte 8; Gabriel ha compuesto 3 bandas sonoras, Sting compuso los temas de una película de Disney; Gabriel ha adaptado sus temas a formato sinfónico e incluso llegó a hacer una gira, Sting hizo exactamente lo mismo; Gabriel no publica material nuevo desde 2002 y Sting sufrió un bloqueo creativo que duró una década (2003-2013). Gabriel tiene canciones nuevas grabadas y Sting probablemente publique un nuevo álbum a finales de año con influencias árabes, qué tan buen resultado le dieron en “Desert rose”. En este concierto se volvieron a recuperar los temas “No self control” y “Darkness”, que en lo últimos conciertos habían sido sustituidos respectivamente por “Digging in the dirt” y “San Jacinto”.
